A few days ago I teamed up with Cook Images Photography. We did a shoot for one of my upcoming projects. During the outdoor portion of the shoot I managed to catch a few people off guard while wearing my straight jacket. It was just as entertaining for us as it was for the unsuspecting onlookers. Thanks again to Jeremy and Hara for all their help!
Due to reasons outside of my control, my biggest project has been delayed. At the latest it should be released in two weeks. Until then, I still have a few other projects I'm working on. Lot's of work to do, but I'll keep everyone posted on the progress.
The most frequent question I'm asked is " When can I see your show?" The problem is that most of my performances aren't open to the public. But next month, there's a couple chances to catch me in action!
I'll be performing close-up magic at the Greater Good Music, Art, and Children's Festival Fundraiser. The event is being held in downtown Pensacola on November 15th. Tickets are 2 for $25 in advance, or $15 a ticket at the door. For more information, visit the event website : greatergoodmusicandart.com
My other public performance will be with the Gulf Coast Magician's Guild. It will take place on November 21st at the Bayview Senior Center. This is our annual fundraiser for the club. It looks like we're going to have 9 performers, including myself. Tickets will be $7 for adults and $5 for children. In the next couple of weeks, I'll be giving away 2 free tickets to the show! So if you're in the Pensacola area, stay tuned!
That’s about it for now! Hope everyone’s doing great!

Hey everybody!
It's been two months since my last blog. I promise it's not because I'm getting lazy!
I've been the busiest I have ever been. In fact, I've been getting 3 or 4 hours of sleep a night. Not enough hours in the day (or coffee) to get all of the work done. These projects should be wrapped up in the next two months though. As long as everything sticks to the schedule.
My biggest project should be released on Halloween. I still have a lot of filming, consulting, and a photo shoot left in the to-do list. Once it's all done, I hope the final product will look great!
This week I've got a GCMG meeting, SYM contest, and a couple production meetings. We're still working hard on the GCMG Annual Show. At this time, it looks like we're going to have around 8 performers. This is the GCMG's annual fundraiser and is open to the public. Later this month I'll post ticket prices and event info.
Last month I had the chance to meet up with Justin Willman again. He had a show at the University of South Alabama in Mobile. You might know him by his stage name Justin Kredible. His appearances include the Rachel Ray show, MTV's Room 401, T.H.E.M. and recently he toured with Jason Mraz as the host of "Music, Magic, and Make Peace". He's an awesome performer and I highly suggest you see the show if he's in your area. In January he'll be performing at the University of West Florida here in Pensacola. You don't want to miss it!
Well, that's about it for now. There's lots more but I'll save it for another blog.
Big things coming up! I'll be sure to keep everyone posted!

Hey everybody,
There's a lot going on this week. Here's a little bit of what's happening.
In just a couple of hours, I'm driving to Ft. Walton Beach, Florida for the first day of a four day long lecture by Shoot Ogawa. I first met Shoot last month at the IBM National Convention in Nashville, Tennessee. Some of the magic he performed, I have no explanation for. He's an incredible performer and I can't wait to see his lecture. There will also be a GCMG meeting this week. Lot's of stuff to get ready. I'll be selling a few products for magicians at the meeting.
Filming will start this week for my first video in the Media section. Hopefully the weather forecast will cooperate. Tropical storm Claudette made it difficult to get any work done over the past few days. So while there is a gap in between storms, I'll get some footage.
Next month is shaping up to be busy also! I was recently asked to take part in a fundraiser for the Greater Good Music and Arts Festival. It's going to be a great event for a great cause. It's going to take place at Paradise Pensacola on September 20th. For more information on the event and tickets, visit their website: Greater Good Music and Art
I'll also be conducting a few interviews with a few local groups next month. Should be pretty interesting. I'll post more info next week.
There will be a couple of magic lectures in the area in September. The first will be Richard Turner. He's absolutely incredible. I really don't know how to describe him. He's one of the greatest sleight of hand artist's I've ever seen. Most of his performances are based around cheating methods with cards. There's something else I should mention, he's legally blind. Here's a link to watch him in action : Richard Turner - The Cheat
The GCMG will be hosting the Jim Pace lecture in September. I've heard his lecture is great! Really looking forward to it. If there are any magicians interested in attending the event, e-mail me for more info.
So that's just a little bit of what's going on. Like I said last time, I'm still working on a few secret projects. They'll have to stay that way for the time being... Hopefully I'll be able to fill you in on it soon!

Hey everybody!
Wow, I've had a pretty busy schedule lately. The I.B.M. National Convention was a blast! It was a great convention all around. I had the chance to meet some amazing people and learn from some of the greatest minds in magic. I have to say though, it was one of the largest resorts I've ever been to. It was incredible. The resort was also hosting the North American Irish Dancing Championships. There were nearly 5,000 Irish dancers in the hallways and atriums. I was kicked several times. Very painful. Enough said.
I recently did a show for a local 4H club. Tried out a lot of new material. The additions are working out great! I also received a couple new shipments of props the other day. One from California and another from Europe. I'm getting really exicted to add all my latest projects to the show.
I've also been helping out a good friend of mine, Dale Bosarge. We filmed some new promotional material for him. Florida's weather around this time of year can be rather unpredictable. One second it was pouring down rain, the next it's 100 + degrees. Makes for difficult conditions to film in. Check out Dale's website at dalebosarge.com. His new promo video should be released very soon.
There have also been a few new developments with the upcoming video section of this website. I've decided to split the entire project in two. The first half will be produced rather quickly and should be released within the next month. The second half is going to be much more elaborate and time consuming. Project #2 is something I've been secretly working on for the past couple of years. Can't discuss that much right now, but I'll post the info in the blog when it gets closer. The split will enable me to release the first half more quickly and then be able to devote all my time to the second half.
Also, thanks to everyone that follows me on Twitter! If you have an account, feel free to follow me. @nathannickerson
Until next time,

Most of my readers know that I've been working on new show material for quite a while now. This past week I was able to present these new routines for the first time to an audience. Last Saturday I performed at the Blueberry Jamboree in Molino, Florida. The heat index was in the 100's. That was the same day I debuted my straight jacket escape. I have to tell you though, being tightly strapped into a thick leather and canvas straight jacket, in that heat, was pretty difficult. It was a great day to test out the new routines though. Especially in those conditions.
The following day was the Gulf Coast Magician's Guild Annual Picnic. It was a nice day outside and the food was really good. Thanks to our President Bruce Walstad for graciously opening his home again to our club! I also had a chance to chat with Bill Riales, formerly of WKRG, about some of my upcoming projects.
This past Thursday the GCMG held it's monthly meeting. I had the chance to test out my most recent routine. It's my new version of the famously dangerous Russian Roulette. I've gotten lots of great feedback from it. Looking forward to adding it into the show!
New show dates have been posted on the Calendar page. Quite a few more are currently in the works. Once the dates are confirmed I'll be sure to post them. We're already in the planning stages of the GCMG public show. Last year many members said it was our best show ever. We're working hard to take this year's show to another level. I'll keep everyone informed on event details and ticket information. The show is slated for November.
In just over a week I'm leaving for Nashville, Tennessee. I'll be attending the International Brotherhood of Magicians' National Convention. The convention will last 5 days. I'm going to try and film as much as possible while there. The schedule of events is very packed though. So I'll try to get enough film to post. In an attempt to not overload Facebook with too many status updates, I'll keep most of my updates on Twitter. Feel free to follow me! @nathannickerson
Thanks again for all of the support!

Hey everyone,
It's been a couple of months since my last blog. So here's an update on everything I've been up to.
I originally had posted a message stating that this site would be going dark for about a month. This was due to maintenence and the possible move to a new server. After looking at things contractually, I decided to keep the website as it is for a little longer. I'll be updating the content and calender with new info and events.
The media section is finally starting to come together. Some of my readers may already know that I do all of my own video production. Also, I run the website and everything that branches out from it. It's been quite a task managing everything during the transition. I've also been investing in more video and audio equipment to help with the shooting. On top of organizing it all, I've also had to learn the software that's used to produce the end product. I'll post more info on the media section in the upcoming days.
Lately, I've been working with the Kiwanis club. They're a great bunch of people and I'm looking forward to working with them again in the near future! It was a lot of fun to perform at their Aktion club meeting and I'm glad everyone had fun!
The next blog will be posted either this week or the next. I'll be discussing some plans for the future. So be sure to stop by!

It's been a couple months since my last blog entry... I know. I'm slacking. But there's good news!
I've recently created a Twitter page! Feel free to follow me. Here's the link : www.twitter.com/nathannickerson
Also, the HD video section is still in the works! There will be a lot of content released within the next few months. This will include a video series from a certain landmark here in Pensacola. I can't give away too much yet.
I'm also starting my fourth month as the Vice President of the Gulf Coast Magician's Guild. This past month we hosted a lecture by magician John Calvert. He is an absolute magic legend and has been a huge inspiration since I began performing. This was my second time meeting him. It's been a great honor to serve as his sound technician for both of his visits. Oh, and did I mention he's 97 years old! In other GCMG news, I'm continuing my position as Editor of the Hocus Focus newsletter. It has been expanding in recent months! Thanks to all of the contributers and their great articles! I've recently been notified that the newsletter is reaching as far as California. In fact, it's covering a large area of the United States!
Our next GCMG meeting will be an our annual Open House. If you're a magician or have an interest in magic, feel free to stop by! I'll be conducting a teach-in on a couple of tricks. You can contact me for more information. nate@nnickerson.com
The Pensacola Talent Show has asked me to be a special guest performer at one of their contests! No date has been confirmed yet, but I'll keep everyone informed.
There has also been a few dangerous additions to my show line-up. These aren't your average magic tricks.
Here's what I can tell you:
- One includes a deck of cards, blindfold, member of the audience, and a stainless-steel animal trap.
- The second is a game of Russian Roulette that the audience is in control of!
Want to see these in action? Book me for your next event!
Well, that's all for now! In the future I'll try to update my blog more frequently!
Take care,
Nate Nickerson

Hey everybody,
It's been a while since my last blog. Recently there was a glitch with this website. So I've been trying to straighten everything out.
Also, I've been working on my latest project. This has been something I've been quietly putting together for the past year or two.
What's the big news? This website will now feature an HD media section! That's right, High Defintion magic.
I've posted an HD trailer on the homepage of this website. You'll see in the upper right corner of the video, there is a toggle icon. This
icon says "HD On". If you wish to not view the video in HD, simply click on that icon. It will turn HD off. The video will load quicker but the quality
will not be as clear.
On top of these projects, I recently became Vice President of the Gulf Coast Magician's Guild. It's a huge honor to take this position and
I will work as hard as possible to try and fill these new shoes. I will also continue my job as the Editor of the club's newsletter, The Hocus
Focus. So as you can see, I've been really busy. In the near future I'll post more information regarding filming and post-production work with the
HD media section. The first video should be released in the next week or two. So stay tuned!
Take care,
Nate Nickerson

Hey everyone!
It's been a month to the day since my last blog. A lot has happened since then, so let me fill you in on the news.
Over the past few months I've been in the process of updating the website. It's still not 100% done! There still are a few things up my sleeves, that will be showing up in the next couple months.
Upcoming Events
At the time of my last blog, I was getting ready for Flight Fest at the National Museum of Naval Aviation. I had a lot of fun performing for everybody! This coming weekend, I'll be back at the museum. This time for the 10th annual Halloween celebration. Much advertising has been done by the Pensacola News Journal, Cat Country 98.7 FM, and Splashes magazine. The event will be held from 11 am - 3pm Saturday October 25th. Just like last time, there is no admission price! The whole family can come for free. Here's a link for more info:
On October 31st (Halloween) I will be performing in Ft. Walton Beach, Florida for a charity named "Children in Crisis". 100% of the proceeds will go to the charity. The star of the show will be David Regal. David is both a magician and television writer. His work can be seen in shows ranging from Rugrats to Everybody Loves Raymond. He will be performing two shows that night. One at 7.30 and one at 8.30. I will be performing in between shows. Admission is $50 and seating is limited. For more information, contact Brian Ward (850)499-2720.
November 15th I'll be performing in the Gulf Coast Magician's Guild annual public show titled, An Evening of Magic. We have a great lineup of performers once again! The event will take place at the Bayview Senior Center in Pensacola, FL. Doors open at 6.30pm and the show will start at 7pm. Adults: $7 Children: $5
I'll be posting more information very soon!
Gulf Coast Magicians Guild
I'm proud to announce that I have been elected as the Gulf Coast Magician's Guild Vice President for 2009! This a huge honor and something I'm really excited about! Thanks to everyone for their support!
Also at our October meeting, I had the chance to judge the Society of Young Magicians: Stars of Tomorrow Competition. Six members competed and I was amazed at the level of talent! Congratulations to Ben Stanhope who won First Place.
I recently sent out my second edition of the Hocus Focus since becoming the editor. It's been getting some great reviews! Thanks to everybody that has contributed information! If you are a member and would like to submit an article for the newsletter, feel free to e-mail me.
That's about it for now. Like I said earlier, I still have a lot of projects I'm working on. So stay tuned for more information!
Thanks for reading!
